The Pre-Marriage Course

Join us for a Couples’ Banquet which includes participants who are about to begin either The Pre-Marriage Course or The Marriage Course. In this opening “date night” setting you’ll be encouraged, receive tools to help you navigate and complete the online course sessions, and be introduced to local resources who can help if you need it along the way.
In the Pre-Marriage Course, you and your partner will take a couples’ survey, share with one another during five video-led sessions, and finish with a guided conversations around the responses you gave to the couples’ survey.
Each of the video sessions lasts for 1 hour 35 minutes, half of which will be for your conversations. We encourage you to complete each session in one sitting, and to set a regular time aside each week to complete a session.
The next course starts with a Couples’ Banquet in San Lorenzo, California, on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

How does it work?
1. Register.
Complete the registration form. Be sure to include all of your partner’s information. After you register you will receive an email confirmation.
2. Attend the Couples’ Banquet.
You can expect a date night atmosphere and fantastic food. In addition, you’ll be encouraged as a couple, and you’ll be given everything you need to navigate the course over the coming weeks. You’ll receive online access to the videos, guest journals to help track content and your conversations, and some other surprises to help make your course nights special events. You’ll also meet your course hosts who can help out if needed as you work through the course.
3. Pick a weekly day and time with your partner.
Videos for the course will be available following the Couples’ Banquet. Find a time for you and your partner to watch the videos together. Make a date of it! Don’t forget the candles, snacks, and drinks. If you’re parenting, you might put the older kids in another room, and the younger ones in bed. Try to make it feel as special as possible.
4. Stick with it!
Plan to watch one video per week. Start with session one and work through the sessions in order. We encourage you to get started as soon as you can!
5. Get personal support and encouragement.
Toward the end of the course, one of our trained and vetted support couples will contact you. These are couples who have been through The Marriage Course and received extra training to help couples like yourself explore the results of the couples’ survey. You’ll be invited to meet face-to-face for this final session.
6. Celebrate!
You’ll be invited to celebrate the completion of the course at a dinner on Saturday, August 30. The investment you’re making in your relationship is a great thing! Plan to mark the completion of the course with friends and food.
The next course starts with a Couples’ Banquet on Saturday, June 21, in San Lorenzo, California.
